Partnership with Llandaff Diocese

Date Published: 15th September 2022

Proton Foundation announces partnership with Llandaff Diocese.

We are thrilled to announce that the Proton Foundation has agreed to partner with Young Faith Matters, a funded element of the Diocese of Llandaff.
Our initial partnership is for 12 months with the hope of increasing the partnership by at least a further year.

Our partnership involves training 20 people from the Diocese of Llandaff to deliver the Flourish Project in schools and churches across the Diocese. The Flourish Project will also be a recommended resource to all 25 church schools from within this Diocese.

Hannah Williams, CEO of the Proton Foundation, had this to say: “We are excited by the synergy of this partnership and are looking forward to the young people’s lives that will be encouraged, enabled and empowered. Our mission is to create cultures of impact and long lasting change. We understand the importance of partnering together, as ‘together’ we can make a significant difference, bringing hope and restoration.”

Paul Booth, Director of Mission for the Diocese of Llandaff explains the importance of this partnership, “As a Diocese we have seen the potential of this programme to impact young lives. The capacity for schools to address the increasing challenge of young people’s mental health and well-being issues is stretched and this offers us the chance to support schools with an excellent course which has demonstrable impact.”

Some of the newly trained Flourish Project facilitators had this to say after completing the two day training course delivered by Proton Foundation Trustee Jay Williams, CEO Hannah Williams and Flourish Project Manager Phil Mann.

“Lovely people & great training. I felt at ease throughout the training and feel very equipped to deliver the project in my local context.” – Mel Saunders

“This was an incredibly insightful, well considered and powerful programme that touched me deeply. I am confident that it will have a positive impact on the young people I will engage with.” – Reverend Charlotte Rushton

“Thoroughly enjoyed the training and feel ready to approach schools!” – Samuel Robinson
