The Flourish Project Annual Report 2024

Operating under the Proton Foundation, the Flourish Project is a specially designed wellbeing programme aimed at young people in Key Stages 2 to 5 that aims to promote a holistic and community-led approach to mental wellbeing and resilience.

Since 2016, the programme has been delivered in over 80 schools across the UK and we have an ambitious vision to go further still. The Flourish Project stems from a vision to positively impact the lives of thousands of young people across the UK and beyond, boosting self-esteem, happiness and mental wellbeing in children and young people. We deliver this programme through a partnership model, working alongside schools, communities and local organisations who share our vision to improve mental health for the next generation.

Launching in Leicestershire in 2016, the Flourish Project has grown exponentially. Since 2020, we have trained teachers, SENCOs, youth workers, school leaders and church groups to become Flourish facilitators, resulting in the project rolling out nationally, including; Scotland, Wales and the Midlands area.

However, we are not stopping there. We are looking to partner with multi-academy trusts, dioceses, local authorities and youth and faith organisations across all regions of the UK, providing a resource that can help contribute towards the national PHSE curriculum and help with some of the key factors that Ofsted and Estyn are looking for when inspecting a school’s mental wellbeing provision.
